Escaped Scott County inmate caught, arrested

SUNDAY UPDATE:  Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter announced Sunday Musgrove is back in custody at the Scott County Jail.  Working on a tip, Musgrove was located and arrested without incident.

ORIGINAL STORY:  The search is still on for an inmate who escaped from the Scott County Jail.

31-year-old Joshua Musgrove escaped custody around 3:30 p.m. Thursday after he returned to the jail from a court appearance.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says Musgrove was returned to work detail and escaped the jail through a service gate that had inadvertently been left unsecured.

Officers using a K9 were able to find an article of jail clothing that Musgrove was wearing in the woods a short distance from the jail.

The sheriff’s department says Musgrove should be considered dangerous.

If you see him or know where he is, you can call the Scott County Sheriff’s Department at 573-545-3525 or 573-471-3530.
