Volunteers needed for Halloween safety patrol in Carbondale

Carbondale police are looking for volunteers to help keep trick-or-treating safe for children.

The police department is in need of volunteers for its Pumpkin Patrol.

They will be patrolling areas of the community where kids trick or treat, looking out for potential safety hazards and be someone children can turn to if needed.

Volunteers will be wearing orange safety vests and driving cars with the Pumpkin Patrol logo.

The Pumpkin Patrol is out from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31.
