Crash between semi and pick-up truck injure two people

Illinois State Police are investigating a crash between a semi and a pick-up truck that injured two people.

The crash happened at the intersection of IL Route 13 and IL Route 148 in Williamson County around 7:08 p.m. Monday.

Troopers say 46-year-old Major Reed of Riscoe, Missouri was driving a semi west on IL Route 13 when he started to turn south towards IL Route 148. At the same time, 48-year-old Julie Strauss of Marion, Illinois was driving east on IL Route 13 approaching IL Route 148. 

As Reed was completing the turn, Strauss enter the intersection and the two vehicles collided with each other.

Both drivers were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation. Charges are pending.
