Lyon County Search and Rescue warns of low water in Kuttawa area

Lyon County Search and Rescue Chief Lacey Kelley is warning you to use extra caution on Lake Barkley in Kuttawa.

On Tuesday night Kelley said the water levels in Kuttawa are extremely low. She says sand bars and old boats that have been under the water for years are now surfacing.

Kelley said Lyon County Search and Rescue advises boaters to be extremely cautious in the water around the Kuttawa Harbor, Buzzard Rock, and Kentucky State Penitentiary areas.

“The whole area down through there is an extreme hazard,” Kelley said.
