KSP says 142 pounds of marijuana found during traffic stop

State police say two people were arrested in Lyon County Wednesday after about 142 pounds of marijuana were found during a traffic stop.

A Kentucky State Police trooper conducted a traffic stop near the 44 mile marker of Interstate 24 in Lyon County Wednesday. KSP says a a search of the vehicle revealed the marijuana, which was in several suitcases, as well as $9,750 in cash. 

The two men who were arrested were Joseph Sommerfelt of Nashville, Tennessee, and Weston Danks of Knoxville, Tennessee. They were each charged with trafficking more than 5 pounds of marijuana and jailed in the Caldwell County Jail.
