Lengthy closure of Williamson County road postponed until spring

A closure for construction on Wolf Creek Road in Williamson County, Illinois, that was planned to start this month has been postponed until spring of next year, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.

IDOT says the project on Wolf Creek Road is now delayed until the spring of 2017 because of utility conflicts and weather concerns.

When it is eventually in place, the limits of the closure are planned to be a quarter of a mile east and west of the Wolf Creek intersection with Old Illinois 13. IDOT plans to reconstruct the intersection and make improvements to Wolf Creek Road.

The project was expected to take around two months to complete, according to IDOT. However, drivers now do not have to worry about finding an alternate route until next spring.
