Bicyclist dies in crash with car

A crash involving a bicycle and a car has resulted in the death of the bicyclist, who the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department has now identified as former judge executive Van Newberry.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened in the 8500 block of Old Cairo Road around 11:50 a.m.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says both lanes of KY 305/Cairo Road are blocked between the four and five mile marker.

This is between US 60 and KY 725/Woodville Road.
