Carbondale man charged with hiding a homicidal death
A Carbondale, Illinois, was charged with concealment of a homicidal death on Friday, according to the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The state’s attorney’s office says 25-year-old Robert Dennis was charged in a one-count information filed in Jackson County Circuit Court Friday.
The information alleges Dennis knowingly concealed the death of a person who has "tentatively been identified as a female," the state’s attorney’s office says. Dennis is accused of hiding the body in a trash can and moving it into a wooded area on Aug. 29 in Carbondale to prevent or delay discovery of it.
The state’s attorney’s office says the identity of the victim is being withheld until forensic verification is complete.
Dennis is the second person charged in this case.
Tiesha Anderson made her first court appearance on Tuesday. She is accused of putting the body into the trash can.
The body was found near the Midas on East Main Street in Carbondale.
