A year later: Riverfront hotel project moving right along

City leaders and Lingate Hospitality broke ground to start construction of a five-story Holiday Inn on Paducah’s waterfront a year ago Wednesday.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Oct. 19, 2015 on North 4th Street.

A year later, crews have started to place windows in the hotel’s upper floors. Lingate Hospitality says its getting ready to install the electrical system, plumbing and make mechanical installations.

The hotel is targeted to open in April 2017.

The developer says it has already received calls from people who want to book rooms in the hotel, use the meeting space there and book conventions.

In the video above this story, you can see all the angles of the hotel as it stands on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016.
