Missing grandmother and grandson found trapped in overturned SUV

A missing grandmother and her grandson were found Monday morning trapped in an overturned SUV.

The West Marshall Fire Department freed 35-year-old Kayla Belcher of Mayfield and her 9-month-old grandson John Luke Sheridan from a ravine near the Graves/Marshall County Line on KY 402.

The two were trapped in the overturned SUV.

Belcher is being treated at a hospital in Evansville, Indiana. The father of the baby says the 9-month-old was released from the hospital. He has a broken jaw and bruises.

Belcher and her grandson were reported missing Sunday evening. The two were headed to a relative’s home in the Kirksey area Sunday afternoon but never arrived.

It is unknown when the crash happened, but the Graves County Sheriff’s Office says that the crash could not be easily seen from the road.
