Kentucky corrections officer arrested on drug and contraband charges

A Kentucky corrections officer was arrested after drugs were found in the West Kentucky Correctional Complex in Lyon County, state police say Friday.

The Kentucky State Police said it got a call from the prison around 6 a.m. Sunday, requesting response from a trooper because it was believed that an employee brought drugs into the prison.

After the trooper arrived, he seized what KSP says was a large amount of Suboxone, and he arrested 49-year-old Danny Ford of Dawson Springs.

Ford was charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance and first degree promotion of contraband. He was jailed in the Caldwell County Jail.
