Woman injured in wreck on U.S. 45 in McCracken County
We are learning more Thursday evening about a wreck that seriously injured a woman on U.S. 45 in McCracken County in the afternoon.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says 58-year-old Sandra Wright was in a 2004 International tanker truck carrying water along the shoulder of the road near the Graves County line when an SUV hit the truck.
After the SUV, a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, hit the truck, it came to a stop blocking both lanes of U.S. 45 South. The driver, 42-year-old Virginia Brayfield, was taken to an out-of-state hospital for injuries deputies say were incapacitating.
Deputies say a passenger in the truck with Wright — 30-year-old Jeremy McCalister — was taken to an area hospital for injuries that were not incapacitating.
A woman was seriously injured after deputies say she crashed her car into a spraying rig around 3:30 on U.S. 45 at the intersection of Kentucky 1241.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says the woman veered off the road and hit a spraying rig on the side of the road.
The woman was airlifted to a hospital.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the wreck investigation is being handled by Kentucky State Police.
