New Meridian Elementary School opens in Mounds, Illinois

Elementary-aged students in one local community finally have a school of their own.

The new Meridian Elementary School in Mounds, Illinois invited students and parents to an open house Thursday.

You may remember, the former elementary school was condemned in 2013 because of mold. That forced elementary school students to take classes at the high school.
