Over 70 bags of synthetic marijuana found at Benton, KY home

Two Benton, Kentucky resident were arrested for allegedly trafficking synthetic drugs.

Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office obtain a search warrant for a home at 4275 Lakeview Church Road in Benton on Thursday.

Inside the home, they seized over 70 bags of synthetic marijuana, digital scales, packing materials, over $9,000 in cash, and Schedule II prescription pills.

Detective say the drugs have a street value of over $3,500.

Billy Doane and Thomas Hines were arrested. Doane was charged with trafficking synthetic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hines was charged with trafficking in synthetic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of synthetic drugs.

Both were taken to the Marshall County Jail.

Additional charges and arrests are pending further investigation.
