Traffic shift planned on portion of Purchase Parkway near Mayfield

GRAVES COUNTY, KY — There will be a traffic shift along the Julian Carroll-Purchase Parkway/US 45 Bypass Exit 21 Interchange Friday afternoon.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a contractor will shift southbound traffic from the old Purchase Parkway to the new alignment with the I-69 interchange reconstruction project. This is between the 17 and 23 mile markers.

The traffic shift will stop traffic for about 30 to 60 minutes at the KY 80 Mayfield Exit 22 Interchange. Southbound traffic will then be temporarily routed up the ramps at the KY 80 Exit 22 Interchange and then back down the entry ramp.

The temporary ramp on-ramp off arrangement is expected to be in place for about 60 to 90 minutes. Once the traffic shift is complete, southbound traffic will be traveling on the new alignment.

The traffic shift is expected to start around mid-afternoon Friday.
