High winds close Dorena-Hickman Ferry

Dorena, MO – The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is closed because of high winds.

Captain Jeremy Newsom says winds out of the southwest at 30 miles per hour with gusts to about 40 miles per hour forced the Ferry to stop service.

The ferry is expected to stay closed for the rest of the day.

It’s expected to reopen on Sunday morning on regular schedule.
