Thousands without power after afternoon thunderstorms

UNDATED- Thousands are without power in the Local 6 area after storms swept through the area.

A spokesperson with Gibson Electric Membership Corporation says there 14 outages caused 3,282 members to be without power.

Crews are working  to restore power.

As of 3:00PM, 3,029 members are without power.

The largest group is in Kentucky, affecting 2,748 members in parts of Fulton, Hickman, Graves, and Carlisle counties.

Members in Tennessee in Obion, Crockett, Madison, and Gibson counties are also affected.

Members can report an outage by calling Gibson EMC’s Outage Hotline at 1-800-977-4076.  If the lines are busy, please leave a message.  You also can easily report an outage using the free “Gibson EMC” app through the Apple App Store or Android Market.
