Kroger recalling water for babies after mold discovery

(CNN) — Kroger is recalling a brand of water for infants after a mold discovery.

‘Comforts for Baby Purified Water with Fluoride Added’ with sell by dates from 4/26/2018 to 10/10/18 have been pulled from Kroger stores shelves.

The clear, one gallon water jugs may have mold in them.

Kroger tested the product after receiving complaints and found the mold Talaromyces penicillium.

The Food and Drug Administration says exposure to the mold can cause skin and repiratory irriation.

Babies with already compromised immune systems are also at increased risk.

The mold is not visible to the naked eye.

Anyone who has the recalled water should return it to the store for a refund.
