Trigg County woman charged with assault of Alzheimer’s patient

TRIGG COUNTY, KY – A Cadiz, Kentucky, woman is accused of hurting an Alzheimer’s disease patient in her care.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s Department says 41-year-old Amanda Charlene Boren has been charged with fourth degree assault. Boren was the caretaker of an elderly woman who, in addition to having Alzheimer’s, has had a stroke. Boren is accused of pushing the woman into a chair.

The sheriff’s department says the patient’s son had installed a camera in the home, because he had concerns about Boren. Deputies say the camera captured the abuse.

Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam says if you are being abused or know someone who is, you are urged to call the sheriff’s office at 270-522-6014.
