More than 40 students injured in crash involving three school buses

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) — More than 40 students were injured when three school buses were involved in a crash Thursday morning.

WAVE says three Jefferson County Public School buses were taking kids to school when they crashed.

A preliminary investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department showed two buses were stopped in traffic and a third bus could not stop in time, which caused a chain reaction.

School officials said 41 students were taken to hospitals with what appears to be minor injuries.

The students not injured were picked up by other buses and taken to school.
