Woman arrested for breaking into home, assaulting house sitter

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY – A woman is in jail after deputies say she entered a home and assaulted another person.

December 31st around 12:10 AM, McCracken County dispatch received a call from the homeowner at 325 Bryant Ford Road.

The caller said their house sitter called saying someone was trying to forcibly enter the home.

Deputies tried to call the house sitter, but were not able to reach the sitter.

When deputies arrived, they found the sitter with minor, visible injuries and the front door forced open.

The victim said they knew the person who forced their way into the home and knew where they could be found.

Deputies then found Sylvia T. Fiers at a home on Cairo Road.

Fiers went to the Bryant Ford Road home uninvited to confront the sitter over domestic issues and ultimately assaulted the victim.

Fiers was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail on Burglary 2nd degree and Assault 4th domestic violence charges.
