MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY — The U.S. 45 Ohio River Bridge, also known as the Brookport Bridge, connecting McCracken County to Brookport, Illinois, is back open Wednesday night.

The bridge has been closed since Friday, Jan. 12. It was closed due to ice, sleet and snow on the bridge.

Wednesday, Jan. 17, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that the bridge reopened to traffic around 4:30 p.m.

A KYTC crew checked the bridge today, and found that the sun had warmed the structure up enough to make it clear for travel.
