Rollover crash kills man in rural Murphysboro, IL

JACKSON COUNTY, IL — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly weekend crash.

Around 6:26 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to a major rollover crash on Ava Road near Wece Lane in rural Murphysboro.

Deputies say a black Mazda was driving east on Ava Road when the car lost control, left the road, and rolled over multiple times.

The driver, Jamie Wright, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The crash is still under investigation.
