Man charged with stealing trailer and excavator from Sikeston, MO property

SIKESTON, MO — A Morehouse, Missouri man was charged with theft after police found him with a stolen trailer and excavator.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety was called to the 200 block of North West Street on January 10 on report of a theft of a black 2009 Retco Tilt Flatbed Trailer hauling a Yanmar Mini Excavator total approximate value $45,000.

The owner said the trailer was stolen around 10:00 a.m.

The trailer was parked inside a fenced area with the gate open at the time.

On January 19, detectives found the excavator and trailer at a home in Mississippi County, Missouri. The excavator had been repainted and the serial numbers were removed.

Steven Culp

Police arrested 30-year-old Steven Culp of Morehouse. He was charged with stealing – $25,000 or more. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash or surety.
