Go the Distance runner Shayne Veatch up with the sun

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY – Ten local runners are making progress in their quests to complete a half marathon this year. WPSD is working with Atlas Physical Therapy and the Paducah Athletic Club to make that happen.

The runners are paired with expert therapists and trainers, along with mentor runners.

One of our Go the Distance runners, Shayne Veatch, posted a photo to Facebook this morning while running on the track at the old Lone Oak High School football field as the sun came up. He said he ran about 4 miles on the track.

Several of the runners will take part in the Cupid Chase 5K Saturday in Paducah.

You can cheer on Randy Newcomb, Logan Steckenrider, and AnnaMarie Ulrich as they run for Community Options Inc. The race starts at 9 a.m. at Paducah’s riverfront. Good luck to all runners!
