Suspicious vacant house fire in Cape Girardeau being investigated

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — A vacant house fire is being investigated as suspicious in Cape Girardeau.

Around 12:37 a.m. on Wednesday, the Cape Girardeau Fire Department was called to a house fire at 2827 South Spring Street.

The house was fully engulfed when crews arrived.

It took three tanks of water to knock the fire down.

Nobody lived in the home as it had been vacant for years.

The fire is considered suspicious and an investigation is underway.
