Landslide cleanup to continue on Lyon County road

LYON COUNTY, KY — Work to remove a landslide on a portion of a Lyon County, Kentucky road is expected to continue on Tuesday.

Friday morning a landslide closed KY 295/Lake Barkley Drive at the west edge of Old Kuttawa.

Crews were not able to begin removing the landslide until Monday afternoon. They had to wait for the sun and wind to help dry the land out.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says it will continue cleaning up the landslide starting at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

No word on exactly when the road will be reopened, but it is not expected to be soon.
