The Weather Authority Forecast
There is a slight risk of severe storms Saturday.  This includes the entire Local 6 viewing area.  The main threats are strong winds and large hail.  Keep an eye to the sky.  If you hear thunder or see darkening skies, head indoors!

The holiday weekend is starting off with near perfect weather conditions, although a little warmer than past days.  However, changes are in the forecast.

Friday night brings partly cloudy skies and mild conditions.  Overnight lows will fall into the middle 60s, with a light westerly wind.

Saturday morning, a complex of showers and storms may move across the northern half of the Local 6 viewing area.  It appears this activity will become more isolated by mid morning and into the early afternoon.  This means some locations may not see any rain the first half of the day.  By mid afternoon and evening (in time for fireworks) scattered showers and storms are expected to develop.  Although a line of storms may develop, there may be additional storms around the main line.  While one community is dry, another will likely get a storm or two.  Outside of the storms, variably cloudy conditions will be the rule.  Highs are expected in the middle to upper 80s.  Winds south around 10 mph.

Tornadoes - When to Take Cover
One of the most devastating tornadoes in recent years in our region occurred just a few years ago, a killer tornado twisted through portions of Graves and Marshall counties, leaving one dead, several injured and millions of dollars in damage.
