Get Active Today: Getting Kids Out Of Their Desks

In school, there's a lot of curriculum to cover but not much time for play. But can students do both?

Local 6's Marissa Hollowed challenged teachers at Benton Elementary School with games to get kids out of their desks. The teachers went one step further and turned the games into educational opportunities.

Ms. Jones' class of fourth graders played the games 'Clap and Move' and 'Everyone's It' outside while learning factors and multiples. Ms. Watkins, however, decided to keep her first graders indoors. Check out the video to see how a classroom turned into a playground for Ms. Watskins' class.

Benton Elementary is a recipient of the Baptist Health Paducah grant to offer the Project Fit America curriculum and fitness equipment to all of its students.
