Event Description

Fast, fun and fantastic! In just a day together you’ll learn the secret of using machine piecing and appliqué in combination to simplify complicated curves and circles all in one small 11 x 14 landscape project. But why limit ourselves? We’ll also explore how to layer your work, use couching yarns for quilting along with colorful embellishments– to create a one of a kind piece. You will take home your small quilt well underway to completion, if not totally finished, and a mind filled with new ideas and techniques to apply in future projects.

Supplies to bring:

Sewing machine in good working condition, with zig-zag capability and an appropriate foot for cording or zigzag stitching. (Bernina users bring #21 foot if you have one)
An extension cord
Basic sewing supplies
Neutral sewing and decorative threads
Several safety pins for basting
Duckbill Appliqué Scissors (if you have them, otherwise we will have some to borrow and for sale), sewing scissors and paper scissors
Masking tape
Pencil/Eraser
Fine line (not ultra-fine) marker (permanent black)
Everything else you need will be supplied, including a selection of cotton fabrics for your quilt top and back, one piece of batting, one packet of beads for embellishing, yarn for couching, tracing paper and freezer paper for patterning, and a needle for beading.

Class price: $75.00 plus a $30 kit fee for $105.00 total
