Event Description

Class price is $149 with a $38 materials fee paid to the instructor the day of class. For those taking two (2) or more of Diane's classes this weekend, the discounted class price is $134.00 [Cancellation Policies]
Class size: Maximum 20. Minimum age is 16 accompanied by an adult. To "make" Diane's classes we need 25 class spots sold over the 3-day weekend.

Join Diane for the day as she shares a special technique for adding stamped texture to base metal using silver bearing solder, or as she calls it, Gilding with Solder. The day will be filled cutting and adding texture to base metal, along with using the pieces you might have etched in Let’s Etch!, the day before (Let’s Etch! is not mandatory, but obviously a great prerequisite). We’ll discuss using the torch, firing it up, laying down solder…then stamping!

You will have the opportunity to work on as many pieces as you desire. You might choose to attach one of your “gilded” pieces to an etched brass cuff or collar. Or, you might design a necklace, using your “gorgeously gilded” piece as the focal.

In this class, along with using cold join attachments, you’ll work with metal stamps, texture hammers, chisels and punches. And, time permitting, play a bit with one of Diane’s favorite patina options, Gilders Paste.
