- Does Medicare pay for it?
- Yes, but there are exceptions and specific requirements for payment. A prescription is required and then Medicare will pay 80% of the “allowable” amount for covered items.
- Do wheelchairs and lift chairs come in larger sizes (have higher weight limits)?
- Yes, most of the time.
- I just got a walker (that Medicare/my insurance provider paid for) after my hip replacement and now my doctor wants me to use a quad cane…will Medicare/my insurance provider pay for it?
- Yes, as long as your doctor prescribes it.
- I just got a pair of diabetic shoes in November, but I would like another pair now, will Medicare pay for them?
- Yes…They will cover one pair per calendar year, as prescribed by your physician.
