Jackson Purchase Medical Center response to Medicare settlement

MAYFIELD, Ky. - In response to the settlement statement issued by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Kentucky earlier Tuesday, Jackson Purchase Medical Center Chief Compliance Officer Steve Womack offered this response:

“Jackson Purchase Medical Center is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality care and to accurately and correctly billing patients treated at our facility. When we became aware of this billing mistake, we took immediate action to prevent it from happening again. These steps included adding additional internal and external billing and coding resources. We also further enhanced our existing compliance program.”
