2 arrested for alleged threats at local campground

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. - Marshall County deputies arrested two men accused of waving a gun and threatening to kill people at the Sledd Creek Campground.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department says a tip led a sergeant from the department to pull over a vehicle on Sunday. The sergeant found a handgun strapped to the side of 26-year-old Thomas Bonnell, of Gilbertsville.

Bonnell was also found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time. Police charged Bonnell with Driving Under the Influence and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon without a Permit.

Bonnell's passenger, 39-year-old Steven Croft, of Paducah, was also charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon without a Permit.

A third man, 25-year-old John Ordunez, of Benton, was also arrested after he allegedly got belligerent while police asked questions. Ordunez was charged with Public Intoxication.
