Man dies from injuries after semi hits disabled vehicle in CadizUPDATE (11/28/12): Scott Gray, the victim who was buckled up in his car at the time of the crash, has died from his injuries at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Earlier story (from Tuesday, 11/27/12): CADIZ, Ky. - Two men were seriously injured last night when a tractor trailer struck a disabled vehicle on US 68 in Cadiz. The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. last night. Kentucky State Police say 20-year-old Nicholas Wiseman, of Cadiz, struck a deer while driving a 1988 Chevrolet pickup truck, disabling his vehicle. A good samaritan, 47-year-old Scotty Gray, also of Cadiz, pulled over to assist Wiseman. Police say a Freightliner tractor trailer struck Wiseman's pickup, sending the truck into Gray's car. One of the vehicles struck Wiseman, who was standing outside. Gray was inside his car wearing a seatbelt at the time. Wiseman was transported to Hopkinsville with serious injuries while Gray was taken to Nashville with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer, Mohamed Mohamud, was not injured. |
