3 Sikeston men in jail in connection with shooting

SIKESTON, Mo. - Three Sikeston have been charged in a shooting that left a man paralyzed.

Police say they were called to a home on Mary Street around 1:15 a.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found a 35-year-old had a gunshot wound to the back.

When the man, who has not been identified, woke up two days later, he pointed the finger at 19-year-old Devante McClinton. McClinton allegedly shot the man during a struggle.

Thursday afternoon, police also arrested 17-year-old Maurice Hunt and 19-year-old Shaquille Sherrod as accomplices in the shooting. All three suspects are charged with Assault, Burglary and Armed Criminal Action.
