80-year-old man a victim of home invasion and robbery

COLP, Ill. - A scary night for an 80-year-old man from Illinois.  Early Tuesday morning, someone broke into his home, tied him up and then stole from him.

It happened in Colp.  That's in Williamson County.

Investigators with the sheriff's department responded to a home on Johnson Street after the man's neighbor called 911 to report the incident.

The victim told investigators that around 2:15 in the morning, the invader woke him up.  The culprit tied him up, and then ransacked his house.  When the invader left, he took several of the man's possessions and left him tied up.

After a few hours, the victim got loose and went looking for help.  He received minor injuries during the incident.

He described the invader as between 5'08" and six feet tall, between 160 and 180 pounds.  The victim also said the man was of medium build, "brown-skinned," and between 30 and 40 years old.  The culprit was wearing a black hoodie.

So far, no arrests have been made.
