PADUCAH - After nearly 7 weeks in the hospital a local 6-year old car wreck victim returns home today.

Brenda Kaufman and her granddaughter, Kendra, were driving south on Lovelaceville Road on September 29th. It was dark, and raining. One minute they're talking, the next they're car is flipped over, in a creek and the water was rising.

"I don't know what happened," cries Brenda.

"We hit the concrete culvert and started flipping. I sang songs and prayed with Kendra until the first responders arrived."

Onstar kicked in the moment her airbags deployed. They were able to contact the Paducah Emergency Lline and get help to Brenda and Kendra within minutes.

Both have spent the last 7 weeks in the hospital recovering from multiple injuries. This Saturday family and friends are hosting a fundraiser to help pay for medical bills.
