PADUCAH, Ky. - Have you ever been to a concert and wondered what it felt like to play all those instruments?

Local students got that chance at a musical instrument "petting zoo."

While visiting the Carson Center Thursday, students from local schools got hands-on experience checking out horns, woodwinds and percussion.

Music students from Murray State and members of the Paducah Symphony Orchestra volunteered for the event.

The students learned a little about each instrument and moved to different display stations to hear and touch each instrument.
"It's very neat when you see kids for the very first time experience a good quality programming and be able to see that up close and personal play them, experience them," Paducah Symphany Orchestra Executive Director Daniel Sene said.

The Carson Center, Murray State University and Paducah Symphony Orchestra were partners for Thursday's "petting zoo."
