Missouri man charged with child molestation

CHARLESTON, Mo.. — A Mississippi County man is in jail following accusations of child molestation.

Police arrested 37-year-old Darrell Irish of Charleston. He is currently being held in the Mississippi County Jail on charges of Statutory Sodomy and Child Molestation.

The arrest followed a joint investigation by the Charleston Department of Public Safety, the State Technical Assistance Team, the Missouri Children’s Division, the Juvenile Office and the SEMO Cyber Crimes Task Force.

Charleston Police Chief Robert Hearnes called the investigation “a perfect example of cooperation among differing agencies”.

Irish is currently being held without bond in the Mississippi County Jail.
