Child killed in South Fulton wreck
SOUTH FULTON, Tenn. - A single-car crash left a 4-year-old boy dead and the driver injured in South Fulton, Tennessee.
The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on State Hwy. 214. The driver, 32-year-old Ricky Hopper II, crashed a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he crossed the center line and veered off the left side of the highway. The roof of the Jeep then struck a tree, bringing the vehicle to a stop.
The passenger, 4-year-old Chance Hoover, was pronounced dead. Hopper sustained injuries and his current condition is unknown.
The boy was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Hopper, however, was not. The crash remains under investigation.
