PADUCAH, Ky. - A local road project is moving forward.

Paducah City Commissioners introduced an ordinance to obtain the necessary documents to purchase land to use towards widening Olivet Church Road.

Obtaining the propery will cost the city $57,500, but commissioners say they expect to be reimbursed by the state.

The project would add a center lane to Olivet Church Road from US Highway 60 to James-Sanders Boulevard, as well as improve the curbs and gutters.

The project also includes a new five-lane road from Olivet Church heading towards Kentucky Oaks Mall.
