Crash closes ramp linking Purchase Parkway to Interstate 24

A semi crash has closed the Purchase Parkway northbound ramp to Interstate 24.

The crash happened around 3:30 on Wednesday afternoon. There's no word on the exact cause of the crash, or any injuries.

The ramp is closed as crews offload the cargo from the semi by hand.  According to Keith Todd, with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the cargo is a powder material in 500 pound bulk containers.

The ramp is expected to remain closed until about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday Night.

Drivers can detour by continuing north on the Purchase Parkway one mile until reaching US Highway 62, then turning right on US 62 and going for about two miles to connect with Interstate 24 at exit 27.
