KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) - Endurance swimmer Diana Nyad has ended her fourth bid to swim from Cuba to Florida after four days of storms, jellyfish stings and shark threats.
   
Nyad's support team posted on her blog that the athlete made the call after being pulled from the water a day before her 63rd birthday.
   
Nyad left Havana on Saturday in her third attempt since last year to be the first person to swim the Florida Straits without a shark cage. She also failed once earlier to do so with a cage.

KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) - Endurance swimmer Diana Nyad has been pulled from the water onto a boat after multiple problems on her fourth day of attempting a record crossing from Cuba to Florida.
   
Vaness Linsley, a member of Nyad's support team in Key West, says the 62-year-old athlete was taken on to a support boat early Tuesday.
   
Linsely said they'll know more in a little while. They are discussing with Diana as to how they want to proceed.
   
She said the swimmer had run into multiple problems including jellyfish stings and storms at sea.
