DUI crash sends 1 to hospital
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. - A Murray man is facing DUI and assault charges after crashing into another vehicle and injuring its driver in Marshall County over the weekend.
The crash occurred Saturday night shortly after 9 p.m. on Vanzora Road.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, a deputy found that 29-year-old Jamie D. Morgan smelled of alcohol at the scene of the crash and admitted to having a drink along with prescription medication before driving.
The driver of the other vehicle, 25-year-old Jakab F. Faughn, was trapped inside the car. He was removed from the car and airlifted to a hospital.
The investigation revealed that Morgan had traveled into the left lane prior to colliding with Faughn. Morgan was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence and Assault 1st Degree due to the severity of Faughn’s injuries.
