CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. — The Calloway County Sheriff's Department arrested a man they say assaulted his brother after a fight Wednesday morning.

The fight started just outside of Murray, Kentucky. Deputies were called to the 6000 block of 94 around 9 a.m.

They say 55-year old James Steve Meadows and his brother 52-year-old Stanley Meadows were inside their mother's home when they started arguing. The argument escalated until it was a physical fight.

Then, according to police, Stanley tried to leave in his vehicle when Steve came out of the house with a handgun. Stanley then pulled a gun from his vehicle and allegedly shot at Steve.

No one was hurt and Steve took off on foot to his house in the 200 block of Irvin Cobb Road.

Police questioned both brothers and eventually arrested Steve for 4th degree Assault Domestic Violence and was taken to the Calloway County jail.

Sheriff Bill Marcum told Local 6 the investigation is still ongoing and more charges could come, but at this time, Steve is the only family member facing charges.
