HICkMAN, Ky. - The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is closed this morning after flood waters reached the top of the Kentucky landing in Hickman.

Captain Ed Floyd says the ferry usually shuts down operations when the Cairo gauge reaches 44 feet. It reached 44.5 feet at 8 a.m. and could reach 48.5 feet by Friday.

Floyd says the ferry crew will remain busy with maintenance until the river allows them to get back into business.
