PADUCAH — Two hundred fans have been donated to the "Beat The Heat" campaign. One of the fortunate families is Jack and Cora Leasure.

"The fans are helpful," Jack Leasure said. "They help immensely."

The couple suffers through the heat the old fashion way, drinking lots of fluids, limiting their movement and outfitting their home with fans, two upstairs in the bedrroms and one they plug downstairs in the living room from time to time.

"We just don't have that much in the budget right now for the extra air conditioning," Leasure said.

The fan circulated so much air it makes each room at least four degrees cooler than the rest of the house, making it comfortable for them to enjoy the afternoons and rest easy at night.

"It's a godsend," Leasure said. "We appreciate the community donating these fans."

All fans can be dropped off at your local Region Bank. They are collecting them from now until July 6.
