Family mourns loss of son, brother killed in shooting
PADUCAH — Visibly shaken by the news of her son's shooting death, Chenjuana Chase is comforted by family and friends.
"I don't understand it," she said, crying. "I don't know why somebody would do that to him."
Paducah police found Michael Bouie fighting for his life outside Elmwood Court Apartments in Paducah.
His family said he was struggling to breathe after being shot multiple times in the chest.
"I don't understand why he had to die like that," Chase said.
Bouie's sister said he was visiting her from Memphis. Music was Michael's passion and he was in Paducah promoting his latest lyrics.
But now his family is left to grieve, wondering who could have deliberately killed their son and brother.
"I just love my baby and I hate that I didn't get a chance to see him one more time," Chase said, surrounded by her family. "I hate that I didn't get a chance to kiss him or hug him and look at his face again."
Police are reviewing surveillance video around the apartments to see if that will help in their investigation. They are not releasing any information about a possible suspect.
