Fight ends with chase, five people arrested

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Police say they responded to a weekend fight and had to chase the people involved down.

It happened on South University Avenue in Carbondale, Illinois just after 3 a.m. October 6.

When police arrived, they say the men scattered and officers had to chase them down.  18-year-old Malik Wright, 19-year-olds Jermaine Archer and Demarcus Jones, 20-year-old Deaundre Wimberly and 22-year-old D'Angelis Chambers were captured.

Chambers, Jones, Wimberly and Wright were charged with Mob Action.

Archer was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance & Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance.  That's because officers say he allegedly displayed a handgun during the fight.

All five were taken to the Jackson County Jail.

Police are still investigating.
